Helping you make sense of what’s happening
Pain, stiffness or an injury can make everyday life feel frustrating and uncertain. Whether your symptoms are new or have been bothering you for a while, my aim is to help you understand what’s going on, explain it in a way that makes sense, and support you in moving forward with confidence.
I treat people from all walks of life, each with different goals, routines and reasons for coming to see me. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that’s tailored to you, realistic for your lifestyle, and focused on helping you get back to doing the things you enjoy.
People often come to see me for…
Many people come to see me because pain or stiffness is getting in the way of everyday life. Whether it’s making work uncomfortable, stopping you enjoying exercise, interrupting your sleep or making it harder to keep up with family life, my aim is to help you understand what’s happening and support you in getting back to the things that matter to you.
Some of the most common reasons people book an appointment include:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches and jaw pain
- Shoulder pain
- Hip and knee pain
- Sports and exercise injuries
- Joint stiffness
- General aches and pains
How I approach treatment
No two people are the same, so treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all. I’ll take the time to understand what’s been happening, explain what I find in a way that makes sense, and answer any questions you have before we decide on the best approach together.
Any treatment is always discussed with you first, carried out with your consent, and tailored to your individual needs. Depending on what’s appropriate for you, this may include hands-on treatment, advice, exercises and practical strategies that feel achievable and fit into your everyday life, helping you feel more confident understanding and managing your symptoms.
If I think you’d benefit from additional support, I’ll always be honest about that too. Whether it’s another healthcare professional or someone with more specialist expertise, my aim is to make sure you get the right care, even if that isn’t with me alone.
My aim isn’t just to help you feel better today, but to give you the understanding and confidence to look after your body in the long term.
What To Expect
From your first appointment, my aim is to make sure you feel comfortable, informed and involved in your care.
We’ll start by talking through what’s been happening, how it’s affecting your everyday life, and any relevant medical history. I’ll then carry out an assessment, explain what I’ve found in a way that makes sense, and discuss the treatment options with you before we begin.
Before you leave, we’ll talk through the next steps together. If appropriate, I’ll send any exercises or advice by email, so you have everything you need to refer back to at home.
A few questions you might have
Do I need a referral?
No. Most people book an appointment directly without seeing their GP first.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily is ideal. Depending on the area being assessed, you may be asked to remove some outer layers, but you’ll always be treated with your comfort and privacy in mind.
Can I claim through my health insurance?
In many cases, yes. Most of the major Irish health insurers include cover for osteopathy, depending on your policy. I’ll provide a receipt after your appointment, which you can use to make your claim.
Do I need to prepare for my appointment?
Not at all. Just come as you are in comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. If you have any relevant scan reports, letters or test results, feel free to bring them along, but there’s nothing you need to do beforehand.
