Gentle support for babies and their parents
The early weeks with a baby can bring lots of questions. Many parents come to see me because their baby seems uncomfortable, prefers one side, or because feeding and settling have become difficult and they’d like another perspective and some support.
My approach is always gentle, calm and led by your baby. The appointment is as much about listening to your concerns and helping you understand what you’re noticing as it is about hands-on treatment.
Common reasons parents book
- A preference for looking or turning to one side
- Head shape concerns
- Feeding difficulties
- Tension through the neck or body
- Difficulty settling or seeming uncomfortable in certain positions
- General parental concern about movement or comfort
What to expect
The appointment begins with a detailed conversation about your pregnancy, birth, feeding, sleep and the concerns you’ve noticed at home. I’ll then observe your baby’s movement and comfort before discussing my findings with you.
Any treatment is extremely gentle and adapted to your baby’s age and needs. Babies can feed, be cuddled, changed or take a break at any point during the appointment.
Working alongside other professionals
I often work alongside GPs, public health nurses, lactation consultants and other healthcare professionals. If I feel another professional would be better placed to support your baby, I’ll always discuss that with you and help point you in the right direction.
A gentle clarification
My paediatric work is focused primarily on babies in the first year of life. I don’t routinely treat older children, so if you’re looking for treatment for a child beyond infancy, please get in touch first and I can advise whether I’m the right person to help.
Ready when you are
If you’re worried about your baby or would like some gentle support and reassurance, I’d be happy to help.
